The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism found that one in 13 Americans display a loss of control in alcohol consumption as manifested from binge drinking.  Alcohol's effects on the nervous system stem from interactions at the cellular level, and have adverse impacts on mental and physical function.

This website models the effects of alcohol on action potential propagation, and provides information about the anatomy and interactions at the cellular level.
